The periodic table
Pupils study the periodic table as a framework for organising elements, recognising groups such as metals, non-metals and noble gases, and learning about simple patterns in properties across periods and down groups. They use atomic number and relative atomic mass, predict reactivity trends and classify elements, including understanding the concept of alloys.
