Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9) · Science
Electricity and magnetism
Pupils study electric circuits and magnetism, learning about series and parallel circuits, current, voltage, resistance, circuit diagrams and the behaviour of magnets and electromagnets. They investigate how components such as resistors, cells, bulbs and switches affect circuit behaviour, and explore magnetic fields and forces on wires. Practical work develops circuit construction, measurement and safety skills.
