Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9) · Languages

Grammar

Pupils consolidate core grammar concepts including verb conjugation and tenses, noun gender and agreement, adjectival agreement and word order, pronouns and basic prepositions to build accurate sentences and express time, frequency and opinion. They learn to manipulate sentence structure, use negation and questions correctly, and apply rules to expand vocabulary into new forms. Grammar is taught through controlled practice, sentence transformation and contextualised tasks to support communicative use.
