Grammar and punctuation
Pupils learn basic grammatical terms and functions such as nouns, verbs and adjectives, how to use capital letters and full stops, question marks and exclamation marks, and simple sentence structures; they also practise plural formation and the use of the possessive apostrophe for singular nouns. Pupils build skills in combining words into clear sentences and selecting appropriate vocabulary.
