Earth and space
Pupils learn about the Solar System, including the Sun, Earth, Moon and planetary movements that cause day, night, seasons and lunar phases, and understand orbits and gravity as organizing forces. They explore Earth as a planet with rotation and revolution and learn to use models to represent scale and motion. Practical work involves using diagrams, timelines and scale models to explain cycles and relative positions.
