Algebraic expressions and equations
Pupils learn to use and manipulate algebraic notation, form and simplify expressions, substitute into formulae, and solve linear equations and inequalities, including those with brackets and fractions; they also explore expanding, factorising and using algebra to model problems. Emphasis is placed on algebraic reasoning, rearranging formulae and interpreting solutions in context.
