Fractions
Pupils explore fractions as equal parts of a whole and as simple quantities, recognising and finding halves, quarters and thirds using shapes and practical contexts; they learn vocabulary such as half, quarter, whole and equal parts and begin to find fractions of sets. Activities develop partitioning, sharing and pictorial representation skills alongside simple problem solving.
