Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6) · Languages

Vocabulary

Pupils in KS2 expand receptive and productive vocabulary across familiar topics such as family, school, hobbies and food, learning high‑frequency words, phrases, question forms and topic‑specific terms, plus strategies for memorisation like word families, cognates and visual prompts. They practise using vocabulary in context through speaking, reading and writing tasks and revising spellings and meanings.
