Key Stage 1 (Years 1–2) · History
Significant individuals
Pupils study significant individuals from the past and present to understand contributions, achievements and different perspectives, learning to place people in chronological order, describe notable actions, use historical vocabulary and ask questions about sources and evidence; examples often include explorers, inventors, medical pioneers and local heroes. Lessons develop storytelling, empathy and simple interpretation of impact and legacy.
