Key Stage 1 (Years 1–2) · History
Changes within living memory
Pupils explore how aspects of everyday life have changed within living memory, learning to sequence events, compare past and present using photographs and artefacts, and use vocabulary such as then, now, old and new to describe continuity and change. They practise simple historical enquiry by asking questions of sources and recognising why things changed, for example toys, transport or home life.
