Ecosystems and biomes

Pupils learn about ecosystems and biomes, energy flow and food webs, interactions between producers, consumers and decomposers, and how climate, soils and human activity shape biomes such as tropical rainforests, deserts and temperate woodlands. They develop skills in classifying vegetation, interpreting distribution maps and evaluating conservation and management strategies.
