Key Stage 2 (Years 3–6) · Geography

Locational knowledge

Pupils build locational knowledge by identifying continents, oceans and the countries of the UK and Europe, using latitude and longitude, hemispheres and the Equator to describe position and climate influences, and recognising similarities and differences between places. They learn to use atlases and digital maps to compare locations and understand scale and proximity.
