Socio-cultural influences
Pupils examine how participation and performance are shaped by socio‑cultural factors including socialisation, media, sponsorship, ethics (sportsmanship, performance‑enhancing drugs), gender, disability, access and the role of government and pressure groups. They learn to evaluate equality of opportunity, barriers to participation and how policy and culture influence sport at grassroots and elite levels.
