Key Stage 1 (Years 1–2) · Music

Listening

Pupils learn to listen attentively to a range of live and recorded music, identifying pulse, tempo, dynamics, simple form and timbre, and recognising choices musicians make. They develop vocabulary to describe music (loud/soft, fast/slow, high/low), respond with movement or drawing, and recall and compare musical ideas.
