Translation
Pupils develop skills in translating between the foreign language and English, working on accuracy, vocabulary range, idiomatic expressions and grammar transfer issues such as tense and word order. They practise strategies for disambiguation, paraphrase and preserving nuance, and learn to spot common false friends and literal translation pitfalls to improve both receptive and productive competence.
